You see them occasionally, in the middle of fields deep in farming country, where the farmers have a historical conscience and wish to preserve them. Mostly, though, those ones are more squared-off. I love fab round doocots, and this is a grand specimen. Am determined to go back and keek inside!Rowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12451278642055803824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-665459348518151422.post-1271399070960395882008-02-14T07:26:00.000-08:002008-02-14T07:26:00.000-08:00I really love the doocot -- as Bama said, it is co...I really love the doocot -- as Bama said, it is completely unexpected. You can enjoy feeling all minimalist and uncluttered, then waft out into the exquisitely manicured gardens, where the illusion of inhabiting a perfectly ordered world is maintained. I love the smell of lavender and herbs, and the acres of soft green grass. Have to fight off ther impulse to take on the persona of Julie Andrews in "The Sound of Music", dashing about with open arms and yodelling out uplifting ballads to the beauty of the landscape. It might be possible around midday, methinks, when the custodian slopes off for lunch...Rowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12451278642055803824noreply@blogger.com
